Events - 2009

April 7, 2009

District-A Lodges 482 and 487 come together for a Shadow Lodge.
On April 7, 2009, for the for the 1st time, members of Robert A. Lamberton Lodge #487 and Athelstan Lodge #482 Masonic District-A held a Shadow Lodge, for the sole purpose of unity between the two lodges whose Stated meetings fall on the same night. Robert A. Lamberton Lodge #487 hosted the meeting in Ionic Hall, located in the Masonic Temple, One North Broad Street, Philadelphia PA. This night was extra special because of a district visitation by Robert Burns, District Deputy Grand Master Masonic District-A. Guest Speaker for the night was John C. Sherwood, who gave a talk on developing and keeping memory skills sharp. Brother William G. Kocher PM, Worshipful Master of Robert A. Lamberton Lodge #487 (serving his 3rd consecutive term as Master) and Brother Charles Tarragano PM, Worshipful Master of Athelstan Lodge #482 (serving his 2nd consecutive term as Master) shared a wonderful night of fellowship. This is the 2nd time the two lodges have come together. In November 2008, they held a Table lodge. Both events were well attended. We respectfully thank our district deputies for their continued support. Brother Robert A Ciampitti Sr, PDDGM ended his 5th term as District Deputy while leading our table lodge, and Brother Bob Burns DDGM started his first term supporting our Shadow lodge.

On Saturday January 26, 2009, 15 members from Athelstan Lodge, along with their Ladies and additional guests attended the installation of our DDGM Robert Burns, PM. In addition to the installation ceremony, we were able to witness a presentation of 50 year member awards to our Brothers presided over by our RWGM Stephen Gardner. Present to accept their 50 year pins were Brothers William Krone, Joel Stoloff, PM, Stanley Krein and Jerome Molnick. The marvelous and well attended ceremony was followed by a similarly well attended dinner at Maggiano’s Restaurant.
