From the East - Worshipful Master's Message (April 2009)

Brethren:

On April 7, 2009 members of both the Robert A. Lamberton Lodge #487 and Athelstan Lodge #482, Masonic District-A held a Shadow Lodge. A Shadow Lodge is a meeting when two lodges cooperate in a Stated Meeting, with one lodge's officers opening the meeting, and the other lodge's officers closing the lodge. It is a rarely seen format demonstrating unity and cooperation between the two lodges such as Athelstan and Lamberton, which both meet on the same night.

Robert A. Lamberton Lodge hosted the meeting in Ionic Hall at the Masonic Temple, One North Broad Street. Brother Robert Burns, District Deputy Grand Master, Masonic District-A was in attendance for an official visitation and to observe the Shadow Lodge. The guest speaker for the evening was John C. Sherwood. The topic of his presentation was "Developing and Keeping Memory Skills Sharp".

We shared a wonderful night of fellowship together with Brother William G. Kocher, PM, Worshipful Master and the officers and members of Lamberton Lodge. This is the second time the two lodges have come together for a joint meeting. In November 2008 we held a Table Lodge with Lamberton.  Both meetings were well attended. We respectfully thank our District Deputies for their vigorous support. Brother Robert A. Ciampitti, Sr., PDDGM ended his five year term as District Deputy leading our Table Lodge, and Brother Robert Burns, PM, DDGM started his first year visiting our Shadow Lodge.

This is the final reminder for those members who have not yet paid their Masonic dues.  Suspension must be carried out by Masonic law by the next Stated Meeting.  Send your dues to Arthur Hayes, PM, Secretary before the meeting, or face immediate suspension! For those members with extenuating circumstances, please contact me confidentially to discuss remittance of your dues. We are permitted to remit the Grand Lodge portion of your dues ($25.00) for exceptional reasons, and for a period of one year.

As always, I look forward to seeing more of our members attending our instructional meetings, especially the officers and those who wish to advance in the chairs.

Fraternally,

Charles C. Tarragano, PM

Worshipful Master
